Doomsday 2012 – for real this time?

Filed under: miscellaneous — vagus @ 6:34 am

There was an interesting show on TV’s History Channel a few days ago (which aired in March last year in the US) called “Decoding The Past – Doomsday 2012: The End Of Days”. The show was about December 21, 2012 which has been predicted to be the Apocalypse by various prophets, oracles, holy texts from different civilisations and even a computer program!

The one-hour programme discussed topics such as the Mayan calendar which was astrologically/astronomically accurate and seemed to have an abrupt end on the date December 21, 2012.

It also mentioned a few ancient oracles across the globe such as Mother Shipton and Merlin who have also predicted disaster for the same time.

It talks about the Book Of Revelations, Nostradamus and even the Chinese text “I Ching” or “Book Of Changes” all pointing to the same date.

There is even a computer program called the “Web Bot Project” which was originally designed to try to predict stock market movement, but has been used to see if it can predict other events. The show mentioned a researcher in June 2001 noticed the program indicated an event in 90 days which turned out to be the September 11 attacks. This program also flags the 2012 date as significant.

Even modern astronomers know that December 21, 2012 is the time when the Earth aligns with the Milky Way galaxy in such a manner as to initiate a reversal of the magnetic poles causing worldwide natural disasters.

Generally such predictions of doom are taken with a chuckle. I remember some TV shows about a decade ago which seemed to predict World War 3 some time around 2006/2007 but that hasn’t happened.

But what struck me is the fact that this 2012 date seems to be significant in so many different places, both ancient and modern.

So is this for real? As always, only time will tell.

  1. nope….. I don’t know much about this type of stuff…. but chances are that most of these things are nothing short of lies. As for biblical examples? I’m kind of a biblical student myself and I can garentee that the bible does NOT predict a 2012 disastor. It predicts a period of “disastors”. So therefore…. that contradicts the studies.

  5. I think something WILL happen, as I read an artical from NASA on that date. They said extreme electromagnetic forces will speed up at the top of the world and the bottom.
It will cause weather changes, and who knows what else.

Im old enough to think this is just another y2k scare, but if it looks that way close by that time, I think I won’t go to work that day!

Even without the mayan calendar and the I-ching it would still be “doomsday”
There is a whole bunch of stuff that is supposed to happen.
It’s really scary. something has to happen but hopefully it wont : /

  11. In deed something will happend but we will not parish from this earth, we all go to a higher stage but this will take time for others.

It will all start on the 2012 December 21. The wealth, greed and hate will parish religion will fall eventually. There is only one and that is the prime Creator so if you pray think of the prime creator.

I wish you all love and happiness in the near future.

Open your hearth for others and you will make it to the fifth dimension.

  12. i hope you really believe this stupid crap. because if you go to church and believe in God Amen you will not believe this stuff NO MAN ALIVE CAN PREDICT THIS. only god can alls we no the world could come to an end tomrrow or right now . Only God Him slef can end the world when he wants to not when some man predicts it. and when the world does come to and end if your go to church and believe you Will life of entrenty and if you sin and do not believe you will live entrity of hell. so dont believe this. cause no man can predict this. unless he is gonna be stupid enough to blow the worls up But i really dont believe this and neither should you!!!!!

  13. I believe that the world will not change and kill everyone, but a new age in human evolution of discoveries. As for the pole shift, we are 30000 years over due of something that happens every 700000 years. The Mayan “long count” is when the world is supposed to end, is just the end of the Mayan calendar. Most people think that because it is the end of the Mayan calendar, it is the end of the world. In my opinion it is coincidence, a large error in history, the end of the Mayan culture (because of the small amount left) or the end of the world as we know it (meaning there will be large advancements in technology). Possibly something such as 9/11 even worse. If anything, I believe that what will kill the human race (if anything) will be large acts of genocide. Although if this is the case it will not be for another long while, maybe not even in our lifetime. Possibly when the Sun finishes is off by expanding (not for another few million years), or a black hole (which could happen any time, even today or in a few seconds).

  14. Sure NASA is agreeing with this right now but at the time Skylab was supposed to come down, NASA never denied it until after the fact. I think nothing they are saying is for certain but just a prediction of what could happen. If NASA says nothing will happen, some people would feel slot better, but soMe people would be suspicious and think It is a conspiracy.
